The Voice were formed in Scotland as the Royal Crests. They changed their name to Karl Stuart and the Profile and recorded for Mercury before changing to the Voice. They recorded one single before Miller Anderson decided to leave. He was replaced by Mick Ronson who joined in 1965 after the break up of the Crestas. Dave Bradfield joined in March 1966. Dave Bradfield had been a member of several groups in and around Hull, including the Crestas and the Mariners. The other members of the Voice were also members of a religious group and Mick and Dave were soon out of work when the religious group decided to move to the Bahamas in June 1966. Mick Ronson briefly joined the Wanted in London, who played Motown covers. The Wanted broke up soon after Mick joined and he was forced to move back to Hull. Mick Ronson later found fame as the guitarist for David Bowie. Dave Bradfield moved back to Hull after the Voice finished and re-joined the Crestas.
