  1. The band was first formed from pupils from Rising Brook School. The band was managed by a local business man Stan Woodwood. They rehearsed in the Vine Hotel, and they played prolifically mainly around Stafford, but also extensively in the Potteries and even as far as Yorkshire. The Ban secured contacts to play in the theatre pub at Highfields (name escapes me) backing many major bands of the time - Carl Wayne and the Vikings, Johnny Kidd, the Apple jacks, Toggery Five and many more. The link with Penkridge is because the band played many times in the Church Hall there, but non of the members originated from the town.
The singer and drummer was Mick Dean, Bass guitar Trevor Stott, guitarist Tony Dalby and Phil Bullock. The road manager/ electrician was Malcolm Woolhead
